Review: ELF Studio Cream Eyeliner

Not too long ago I picked up 3 new ELF cream eyeliners. I already owned the "coffee" eyeliner, and this time I purchased "purple plum," "midnight," and "gunmetal." I never got too much use out of coffee because I just don't use brown eyeliner that often, and they didn't have black either time I looked. This time I opted to get the other colors they had in stock because it's getting into cold weather time and another way to jazz up fall/winter makeup is to use colored eyeliner (jewel tones, specifically).

ELF sells a total of 11 shades of their cream eyeliner, with 3 of those shades being newly released. As mentioned above, I only own 4 shades but I enjoy them so much that I will definitely purchase other colors when I find them. The brown liner is matte, and the navy is matte or nearly so. The other two are more metallic. I'm not sure of the other colors in the collection.

You get .17 oz of product for $3 (this is from the Studio line, not the normal $1 line) which is amazing when you consider that a MAC Fluidline is $15 for .1 oz.

Notice the typo?
"Lines and defines 'you' eyes!"
These eyeliners are super easy to use and wear well, and I even kind of like the little brush they come with. I haven't noticed any fading or smudging with normal wear but as you can see below, if you rub them they will start to smudge. The pigment is good and I haven't found the need to do more than one coat to get a nice, opaque line. In addition to using them as eyeliners, they also make great eyeshadow bases!
The packaging is nice and simple, but the lid can be hard to get on right. Sometimes I think I've got it on right, but it's crooked, which is annoying and can lead to the product drying out. If it happened once in a while I wouldn't mind, but it happens every single time I try to put the lid back on.

PhotobucketThe lid is plastic and the jar is as well, though it looks like glass. The brush is a tiny angled brush that's fairly stiff, but
still has some flexibility to it.
I think it's a nice brush to accompany the
product, but there are definitely better ones
out there. Still, if you don't have many
brushes this one will do you just fine for using with this eyeliner.

Minus the lid issue, I really have no complaints about these eyeliners. The colors are nice, they last throughout the day, are easy to use, and are a great price. I'm going to give them...

I've done a live video with this review. I haven't done this before but thought I'd try it out. My lighting wasn't awesome so I'll try to improve on that next time I attempt this, but I did some quick swatches and demonstrated how the eyeliner wears when being rubbed. I hope someone finds it useful :)
