Bye bye acrylics

I recently had my acrylic nails removed to go back to gel polish. I'll be the first to admit that I don't have confidence in my ability to keep away from the acrylics for long, but I'm going to give it my best effort.

For this first manicure after the acrylics, I went with Shellac. As I've said before, Shellac is a thinner gel polish than Axxium, which I favor out of the two. Because this is my first manicure out of the gate and my nails are at their weakest (and therefore shortest) I decided that it would be okay to go with Shellac this time. Once my nails get stronger and a little longer, I'll need the added thickness from the Axxium because it prevents my nails from bending, breaking, and chipping. I've only had this manicure for a couple of days and already I've had a snag. I'm hoping it'll last a good amount of time, but I don't have much hope.

I went with a color that I've already had before, so unfortunately it's not very new or exciting. I got the color Tropix, and like the last time, I almost went with Rose Bud but opted for a more coral color. Next time I get Shellac (if there is a next time) I will definitely be trying out Rose Bud. There are other brands of gel polish out there, but if I want to stick with my current salon (and I definitely do), I'm limited to what they use - which is Axxium and Shellac.

But anywho, onto the pictures. I was having issues with lighting when taking these, so they aren't the best representation of the color. You'll have to check out my last manicure with Tropix to get the most accurate picture of the color.
