Planning Your Next Botox Party by guest blogger Ed Beardsell

The following post is written by guest blogger Ed Beardsell of Clinic Compare.

Help!
It seemed like such a good idea when you suggested it on your girl's night out after that last glass of Pinot Grigio, "I know! Let's have a Botox party!"
So just how do you go about it? What do you need to know? Why didn't you keep your ideas to yourself?!

Don't Panic
Preparation and research is everything. Do your homework; know your facts and you can enjoy a safe and exciting evening.
First you will need to have a qualified Cosmetic Surgeon to do the procedure for you. Botox is classed as a prescription only medication and can only be administered by a professional, so don't even think of going it alone! Most reputable Cosmetic Surgeries offer an "at home" service so make them your first port of call. They will be able to advise you on the "do's and don’ts".
Your chosen surgeon should provide insurance cover in the event that anything goes wrong. He will also insist that everyone should undergo a general health check to ensure that there will be no complications. You will also be asked to sign a consent form stating that you understand what is involved and that you are happy for the procedure to take place.
Before the "big event" do double check with your guests (there should be no more than five invited) that they are really sure about going ahead. It is a big commitment and nobody should feel under pressure to continue if they would rather not.
Now, the most important tip of all, NO BOOZE!! Not at the party or in the preceding 24 hours. When you drink you skin will flush due to the increased blood flow, and the effects of the Botox can become unpredictable. Think "trout pout" and droopy eyelids, definitely not worth the risk.
Lastly, keep it clean. The room where the procedure is to take place must be spotless and hygienic. Remember, this is an operation which is taking place and your friends don't want to be surrounded by last night's pizza or Fido's pet hairs.

How much?
Botox prices range from is from $300-500 in each area, including the forehead, crow's feet and the brow area. The hostess of the party is usually given a discount as a "thank you" for organizing the event. Some surgeons will also give a Loyalty Card as an incentive to have your maintenance treatment done at their clinic rather than using someone else.
So, that's it. All you need to know to give your friends an evening they won't forget. Just remember, next time, lay off the Pinot!
