Here are the claims made by Maybelline:
- Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 8x more volume without clumping.
- Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of 300% more lashes.
I didn't find either of those things to be true. This mascara did not build volume, with or without clumping, and it did not "provide the look of 300% more lashes." It also didn't separate my lashes at all; quite the opposite, in fact. It put my eyelashes together so it looks like I have about 5 eyelashes. Granted, those "5" look thick for being 1 hair each, but that is not what my eyelashes look like on their own, or with other mascaras. I've got a nice set of eyelashes, and this mascara does nothing for them.
Here are the photos
First, the packaging and the wand
Bare lashes
One coat of the mascara
And then the second coat - The website says to not let the mascara dry between coats, and I did follow that
This might be a good mascara for someone with short, sparse lashes but for someone with long lashes (and especially with a fair amount), I would not recommend this product. When you look at the other mascaras I've reviewed and liked, you can see why I preferred the results with some of those over my results with this. The lashes speak for themselves. I'm rating this mascara...
1 out of 5 stilettos

(the only reason I'm not giving it 0 is because it did trick me for a day or so into thinking it might be an okay mascara, but after using it for a week and a half, I'm completely dissatisfied)

I hated this mascara and could never get good results with it.
ReplyDeleteBad this didn't work!! But your lashes are looking lovely after applying it:))
ReplyDeleteI think this mascara is a bit like marmite - you either love it or you hate it. I love it (on my third tube), but I have barely existent eyelashes, and must admit I don't mind a bit of clumping :S
ReplyDeleteThis mascara really has to be primed before it gets good -- I had to use it 6 or 7 times for it to dry out a little and stop clumping my lashes. There's also a bit of a learning curve to the wand -- I find that coating first with the side of the "spoon" works best and then using the curved backside to wiggle back and forth really works on the 2nd coat. Sorry you didn't like it :( it took me a little while to get used to it but once I did, my lashes were huge.
ReplyDeleteSee, I don't like the way it makes my lashes look. I like my eyelashes to look long, separated, and fluffy. I feel like this makes them look like I have little twigs for eyelashes :/
ReplyDeleteI had the same exact experience with this mascara. Now I'm using Wet and Wild MegaLength.
