Ardell Wispies vs Red Cherry #415

If you've been following me for just about any length of time, you know I'm very loyal to Ardell when it comes to my false eyelashes. I've been purchasing them from Madame Madeline for about 3 years now, and love that the more I order, the bigger my discount (per set of lashes). It comes it handy because I do wear falsies just about everyday, so I need to buy in bulk anyway. Right now, the cheapest you can get them is $2.55 per pair, though in the past I've been able to get them for as low as $2.00 per pair, and of course, that's when I order a minimum of about 30 pairs at a time. Still a good deal, considering you typically can't find them in a store for less than $4.00 a pair.

With my last purchase of eyelashes, I decided to try out some Red Cherry brand lashes. Madame Madeline hasn't always sold them, and in fact only started sometime between my LAST purchase, and my most recent one. I've always heard good things about them so I decided to give them a shot. I looked at what they offer, and tried to find something as similar to the Wispies that I love from Ardell. It's not the easiest to compare in pictures (in person is best) but oh well. I ended up with the #415. At just $1.99 a pair, if I liked them just as much, I could be saving $0.56 a pair, which adds up quickly when you're buying a minimum of 15 pairs each time.

I bought my usual Wispies, as well as one pair of #415, and compared the two. They're pretty similar. Wispies have smaller hairs on each side, but graduate into long lashes in the center. It doesn't matter which eye you put either lash on, unlike the #415 lash. They're more graduated. Similar to a Demi Wispie, but not as drastic. The ends of the #415 are also a little more... wispy. Wispies are trimmed to be pretty even in length, and #415s are a little less uniform, giving a more natural look. The ends are also a little thinner in volume for this reason.

On the eye, which you can see in this FOTD, the #415 looks good. But it does give a slightly more natural look than I feel you get with Wispies. Almost like Demi Wispies. I need to play with them a bit more, to see if these are what I'll be wearing from now on. I think what I'll do the next time I need to order lashes, is to get several different kinds of Red Cherry lashes to see which ones look best. Deciding on the #415 wasn't easy, because it does look like they have a bunch that are close to Wispies. I felt #415 was the closest, but perhaps I'm wrong. At $1.99 a pair, I'm okay with ordering several different styles to wear and try before I settle on one.

Below are photos I took, comparing Ardell Wispies and Red Cherry #415.
