Review: Maybelline Great Lash mascara

Maybelline Great Lash mascara has always been a mascara that I was pretty fond of. I think it's pretty straight to the point and gets the job done. It's stayed mostly the same over the years, so far as I can tell, but I think the brush may have been changed slightly over the last ten years. Not an incredibly huge difference if there is one at all.

I like the formula of this mascara. It's pretty fluid, without being watery so it does a good job coating all of your lashes and not missing any. The reason I suspect a slight change in the brush is that I feel as though my eyelashes used to stay more separated when using this mascara than they do now. Still, it isn't horrible, and I think it's definitely due in part to the formula of the mascara itself. If it were a little dryer, and less liquidy than I think the brush could seriously do some clumping together of your eyelashes.

I use this mascara on my clients, with disposable spoolies of course. I feel like with the disposables (that I get from Sally's) I get a better application than with the Maybelline brush.

This mascara doesn't curl or lengthen, it just thickens and darkens your eyelashes. It looks a lot better with one coat than it does with two.

I think maybe this mascara would be most appropriate for someone with shorter lashes than I have. And like I said, it's best when done in just one coat.

While I really enjoy the mascara itself, I'm going to have to give this one just 3 out of 5 stilettos because of the wand.
