Bridal makeup - Brittany

A little over a week ago, one of my best friends announced that she was getting married! She and her then boyfriend have been together for three years and are expecting their first child in March. Jon is an ex US Marine and currently in the Coast Guard, but he has to leave shortly and will be gone for just a few months for some training and he and Brittany decided it best to get married now, for various personal reasons. I was so excited when she announced that she was pregnant, and even more so when she told me about the wedding. How special for her! She's going to be such a wonderful mother, and she and Jon are so in love.

Anyway, she asked me to do her makeup for her wedding and of course I said yes :) The wedding was small, with a headcount of 25 people or so (including the bride and groom). It was held at the home of the mother of the bride. Ceremony outside, reception in and outside. Very casual and laid back - keeping the focus on the true point of a wedding, which isn't about spending gobs of money to show off or to feed a bunch of people (who you may not know that well) an expensive meal. It's about the bride and groom being surrounded by those closest to them, whom they love and cherish and who feel just the same about them, while celebrating their official union. It was beautifully simple and simply beautiful.

To give you a taste of the bride: She's a little more tomboy than girlie girl. She loves camping and fishing, off roading and mixed martial arts. She describes herself as being pretty clueless when it comes to makeup, but she loves shopping and getting her hair done. She probably really wouldn't ever wear makeup if it weren't for her job, and she doesn't wear much when she does at all. And lucky her, she doesn't really need it anyway. Up until a few months ago, she only owned one makeup brush, had never filled in her eyebrows, and had never worn false eyelashes. She's a beautiful girl, and she values simplicity so when doing her makeup, I kept that in mind.

And now on to the makeup, which is what you're really here for, right ;)
